Delicious (Denise & Karina) are a dj/producer team originally hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. Being childhood friends, they grew up together with a mutual interest and passion for electronic music and eventually started djing together in 2001 after an inspirational holiday to Ibiza. They always play back-to-back which gives their set great energy and dynamics. Their style is a mixture of groovy house to dirtier electro house and minimal.
In the early days, Delicious hosted a radio program on Kiss Fm Nordic, a weekend warm up session with the best in house music. They started ‘Get Down’, a house club night located at Rust, one of Denmarks most established venues. Their infectious sets soon got them residencies all over Europe.
In 2006, they started doing their own production work. First single ‘Yours’, was released on UK house label Illegal Beats, and was in collaboration with Kid Massive. The French label Paradise/DJ Center then soon picked up this single which features the vocal talents of Tiger Lily, who has worked with Sucker Djs and Soul Avengerz. Next single ‘3rd Floor’ was a collaboration with Danish producer Jan W, and was released on UK label Soundslike with remixes from Sharooz, Bryan Dalton and Kid Massive.
After a monumental tour with T-Mobiles Robbie Williams Club Tour in Germany and the Privilege World Tour, Delicious mixed their love of fashion and music by becoming in-store residents for the Danish designers Bruuns Bazaar. They compiled music for their Pret-A-Porter Fashion show in Paris and were regular djs at their Copenhagen Fashion Week parties.
In 2007, they played at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 60-years anniversary party and also for various brands such as Bacardi, Heineken, Moët et Chandon, Diesel, Miss Sixty, Nike and Italian designer Patricia Pepe. They have played in a long list of reputable clubs world over including the infamous Pacha/Pacha parties, Privilege/Privilege tours, Space (Ibiza), El Divino (Cologne), Redlight (Paris), AKA/The End (London) Nikki Beach (St. Tropez, Marrakech) and Papagayo (St. Tropez) to name just a few.
Stepping in to present times and Delicious launched Lekker Records in 2008. First release ‘A New Love’, featuring the vocals of Roxy Wilde (sister of Kim Wilde), was a massive hit at the WMC 2008 and IDJ Magazine hailed it as “One to watch out for”. Club hit ‘Stereotype’ came along next with remixes from DJ Wady, Patrick M and FLIP.
Delicious teamed up with Abigail Bailey to release ‘Bounce’, causing a considerable stir during the summer months of 2008. Delicious and Abigail went on to mix a CD for the CR2 Live and Direct series which received rave reviews from worldwide press. The girls have also recently put their unique touch on remixing Arno Cost’s ‘Souvenir’.
2009 entails many more production and remix releases for Delicious. First up is the girls own production ‘One Night Wonder’ which will be released in February on their label, followed by remixes of Andy Roda’s ‘Ready2LoveU’ and Alse’s ‘Drugged’. Plenty more material to follow in March and with UK dates flooding in, these girls are on fire!
