In the heavily male dominated DJ market, it is rare to find a female DJ who can create a huge impact on the scene in a short amount of time. Miss Nine has not only been able to
outshine and make her presence known in such a world, four years of picking up a record. With her eclectic taste in music, ranging from energetic grooves with plenty of vocals to a deeper, progressive sound, Miss Nine is sure to turn heads and move feet any where she performs.
Hey Miss Nine! Where did your name come from? We know you made it up yourself but from what?
I grew up in Germany. My friends and family there called me nine (say Niene) and my birthday is on the ninth of March. Ever since my lucky number is 9.
When is your next compilation album out?
I dont know exactly the date but it will be just after summer I think.
I will release my second Compilation on Yoshitoshi Recordings. “Yoshitoshi Amsterdam”
What are your thoughts on doing an artist album?
I am really looking forward on doing an artist album. It’s in my mind for a long time. At the moment I am too busy with a view projects, but hopefully I can start working on it after summer.
What are your Ibiza plans?
I am not sure. I hope there will be a few bookings again, but it is not sorted out unfortunately. I might be going for holiday if I don’t play this year.
What are your exciting plans for 2009 and beyond?
As mentioned the Yoshitoshi Compilation should be out this year, a few new tracks of my own. I am also signing some new talent to my label 925 Digital. Expand my radio shows (Nine Sessions).
For the rest of the year I will be touring the continents.
Could you describe your style or is that one of those impossible questions?
My sound can be best described as progressive with an energetic and melodic groove. But I think its still difficult to describe a sound when it has so many influences (trance,techno,minimal, electro and house).
