SeOne was the place to be for some infectious bodyshaking beats on Friday 17 April 2009, as Ferry Corsten gave London some Dutch Therapy. Over 1,100 clubbers partied orange style at this funky club night full of Dutch cutting edge beats. The DJ battle between Carlo Gambino vs Dave Hislop hyped up the crowd and ErickE, Bart Claessen, Rafael Frost, JL Aleph (making his UK debut) really got the party started before Ferry Corsten showed the crowd why he is THE trancemaster. Bart Claessen rounded up the night with an amazing set and once again hollandclubbing.com presented London with a cool, hip club night showing UK clubbers how to party Dutch style!
In the main room, ErickE kicked off the night with his signature style of chunky minimalist techhouse and instantly got the crowed dancing. Following ErickE, Simon Dale from KISS 100 announced the two finalists of the DJ Contest and it was time to let the battle begin!
First up was Carlo Gambino who showed true determination through his cutting-edge sound. But Dave Hislop didn’t give in that easily and pulled out all the stops, breaking some smashing beats in his techno dominated set. After careful consideration it was Carlo Gambino who won the battle and played on to a packed room where the crowd didn’t want him to stop! Explaining the choice for winner Carlo Gambino, Eric Fender, label manager for Sneakerz says: We liked his choice of music and were both confident about his stage performance. The Sneakerz MUZIK festival in Holland on the 19 September at Aquabest near Eindhoven has 6 different stages this summer including minimal, Latin-house and eclectic. We felt that Carlo Gambino would be the best fit in this year’s line-up.
Following the battle Rafael Frost kept the crowd going by spinning some mean tunes and preparing them for the performance of the night by Ferry Corsten. When Ferry took the stage the crowd was unstoppable. Once again he showed why he is considered the world’s ambassador of trance and one of Holland’s best exports!
In Ferry Corsten’s own words: “Hollandclubbing.com presents Dutch Therapy was the perfect taste of what to expect when coming over to Holland to party.”
Once Ferry’s set ended the crowd were not ready to call it a night and Bart Claessen definitely aimed to please. His set of energetic tech-trance kept the club thumping until 5am and definitely stamped Dutch Therapy on the UK’s clubbing calendar! Bart Claessen says: "It was a really good night. Great atmosphere and a good crowd that stayed right until the end. It's the best possible way to promote Holland as we have seen enough tulips and wooden shoes by now!"
If you weren’t there you really missed out!
