After two cracking events in 2009, with Riton playing one of the best energetic disco sets we’re heard in a long time and 2009’s fastest rising star The Revenge making his London debut, Sweatshop returns to East Village with another no holds barred line up.
Mr. Tom Middleton has been enlisted to play a special one off set of eclectic gems and 80’s disco oddities. In Tom’s own words ‘I’m itching to play some electro funk’, with a set ethos of ‘if it moves… funk it’. Tom’s musical pedigree couldn’t be more widespread with him starting being schooled by Aphex Twin and Matthew Herbert, to his electro funk Jedi Knights guise, to modern may Balearic warlord and house icon. He has even threatened to come dressed as a wurzel.
Also downstairs, Sweatshop promoters Stopmakingme (Kill Em All) and Dan Hill (One Man Banned) round off the bill. Upstairs after their triumphant debut Ed Darling, The Amateur Rave Wizard and Cruisey Control take control of the bar.
